19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He saved four early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
